Muskegon scored 20 first-quarter points and rolled to a 45-7 OK Black Conference road win at Kenowa Hills on Friday night.

The Big Reds’ Jalen Smith started the scoring with an 8-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and connected with Sherman Hodges on a 64-yard TD pass.

John King’s 32-yard touchdown run put the Big Reds up 20-0 before Kenowa Hills scored to start the second quarter.

Muskegon scored 18 second-quarter points as Smith and John Hall had 2 and 1-yard TD runs, respectively. Adrian Briseno knocked in a 38-yard field goal to end the half.

Smith, who rushed for 123 yards and passed for another 75, scored the game’s only TD of the second half, with a 40-yard scamper in the third.

King finished with 76 yards on seven carries, Hodges had two receptions for 70 yards and William Hunt led the Big Reds defense with six tackles.
