Nathan Lentz scored five times as host Shelby cruised passed Ravenna 49-14 Friday in West Michigan Conference action.
Tied 7-all after the first quarter, Lentz rushed for three straight touchdowns (6 yards, 6, 1) and caught a 78-yard TD pass from Spencer Peters as the Tigers put up 35 points in the second quarter for a 42-14 halftime lead.
Brody Lee’s 44-yard TD catch from Peters gave Shelby a 7-0 lead, but Nick Timlin’s 1-yard dive pulled the Bulldogs even.
Timlin scored again from a yard out in the second quarter to cut the Tigers’ lead to 28-14 before Devin Mussell returned an interception back for a 35-yard score and Lentz and Peters connected.
Lentz added his final score on a 25-yard TD pass from Peters in the third quarter.
Lentz finished the game with 110 yards rushing on 11 carries, Mussell had 43 yards on four carries and Peters was 6-of-8 passing for 169 yards.
