The host Dubuque Fighting Saints scored four goals in the second period en route to a 5-1 victory over the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Friday night.

The game was the first of two this weekend between the Eastern Conference rivals. Saturday’s game begins at 8:05 p.m.

On Friday, the team were scoreless until the second period. Dubuque took a 2-0 lead before the Jacks got on the board with their lone goal of the evening.

Joe Cox scored at 13:59 of the middle period with assists to Adam Gilmour and Frederik Tiffels.

However, before the period ended, the hosts scored two more goals. They added one in the third for the final margin of victory.

Kevin Lindskoug took the loss in net for the Jacks, who fell to 9-3-1.
