The Muskegon Lumberjacks announced on Friday that Matt Mendelson will rejoin the team in time for Saturday night’s game against Team USA.

Also, the Jacks assigned forward James Wade to the Anaheim Jr. Ducks of the North American Prospects Hockey League. Wade had no points in four games with the Jacks.

Mendelson appeared in two games in early November. He is expected to play in the Lumberjacks’ next eight games.

This season, Mendelson was playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite team in the Tier 1 Elite Midget Major Hockey League. In 21 games, he had 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists.

“We would like to thank Penguins head coach Christopher Stern and his hard working staff for allowing Matt (Mendelson) to come back to Muskegon to showcase his talents,” Lumberjacks owner/general manager/CEO Josh Mervis said.  “It is a great opportunity for Matt and we are excited to have him back with the Muskegon Lumberjacks family.”
