Junior Gabby Thelen poured in 24 points, all on 3-pointers, and led the Muskegon Catholic Central girls basketball team to a 47-32 victory over Hudsonville Freedom Christian.

For the game, she made 8-of-11 shots from beyond the 3-point line.

The game was the River Valley opener for the Crusaders.

Besides Thelen’s long-range bombs, the Crusaders also received double-figure scoring from Haleigh Locke with 11 points. Kendall Wickstrom had 12 rebounds. Katherine Salisz dished out seven assists.

Muskegon Catholic raced out to a 33-16 lead at the half and never looked back against the Falcons.
