Grand Haven faced a 30-15 halftime deficit at Grand Rapids Catholic Central before a second half comeback.

But the Bucs ran out of time before being able to pull even with the Cougars, and fell in nonconference action, 44-40.

After being outscored 18-8 in the second quarter, Grand Haven regrouped in the lockeroom and came out and held GRCC to six points, cutting the lead to 36-25. The Bucs added a 15-8 advantage in the fourth but it wasn’t enough.

Sean Steffel led the Bucs with 17 points and Ty VanWieren finished with 13.
