Lakeview trounces Holton girls

HOLTON – A slow start Tuesday night doomed Holton, as the Lakeview girls defeated Central States Activities Conference basketball foe 61-37.

The host Red Devils fell to 0-2 behind a 34-16 Lakeview run across the first half. The Wildcats outscored Holton 17-8 in the third to put away the contest.

Holton was led by Rachel Younts, who poured in a game-high 16 points, while pulling down six boards and six steals in the loss. Teammate Katie Wildfong finished with six points, five rebounds and three steals.

Lakeview’s Megan Leach led the Wildcats with 13, while teammates Andrea Henry finished with 11 and Estelle Molitor added 10 in the victory.
