The Muskegon Lumberjacks’ five-game road trip did not get off to a good start on Friday night.

The host Dubuque  Fighting Saints scored four first-period goals and cruised to a 6-3 victory over the Lumberjacks.

Dubuque (23-4-1) chased starting goaltender Kevin Lindskoug, who allowed four goals on 11 shots in the opening period. Jordan Uhelski came on and played the final 40 minutes. He allowed two goals on 25 shots.

Muskegon received a second-period goal from Adam Gilmour with assists from Tyler Heinonen and Villiam Haag. In the third period, Joe Cox scored twice for the Jacks (18-10-2).

The Jacks continue their road trip Saturday night in Green Bay against the Gamblers.
