The Muskegon Community College Lady Jayhawks had the 1-2 punch of Lindsey Burnside and Sonnie Kurnat on Wednesday night.

Kurnat finished with 18 ponits and five assists while Burnside scored 14 points and pulled down 16 rebounds.

Those efforts led MCC to a 66-55 victory over Glen Oaks Community College.

“We came back and fought hard the whole time,” Burnside said. “I am so proud of everyone for playing their part to get this win.”

MCC was down 13 points at the start of the second half before some adjustments turned the tide in favor of Coach Ron Jenkins’ team.

“Getting the win is a big step for us,” Kurnat said. “Tonight we finally put all of our pieces together.”
