The host Kent City Eagles used a 21-5 scoring advantage in the third quarter to pull away for a 48-40 nonleague girls basketball victory over the Western Michigan Christian Warriors.

WMC led after one quarter, but Kent City battled back for a 22-20 lead at the half. Then came the pivotal third quarter in which Kent City ran away from the Warriors with the big scoring advantage.

Justine Wolter led Kent City (12-1) with 15 points and Bailey Freeland added 12. The Eagles made nine 3-pointers in the contest.

Vanessa Eekhoff and Rachel Bruinsma shared top scoring honors for the Warriors with 12 points each. Bruinsma pulled down 10 rebounds.

WMC is 9-4.
