John Stevens was the only player among 16 shooters to score in the Dubuque Fighting Saints 4-3 victory over the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Friday night.

The game was witnessed by 2,038 spectators at L.C. Walker Arena.

When the game was tied after 60 minutes of regulation, the teams played 5 minutes of overtime then progressed into the shootout.

Goaltenders Jordan Uhelski from Muskegon and Connor Girard each stopped the first seven shooters before Stevens was able to score for Dubuque.

The Fighting Saints took a 2-0 lead after period and led 2-1 after two. Chad McDonald scored for Muskegon in the middle period to cut the deficit in half. Cameron Darcy and Uhelski assisted.

Cullen Hurley scored in the third period to pull the Jacks to within a goal.

Then, with an extra skater, Muskegon was able to tie the game with 45 seconds left on a goal by Darcy. Adam Gilmour and Ben Foster drew assists.

Girard raised his record to 12-3-2 while Uhelski, who stopped 31-of-34 shots, saw his record drop to 3-4-4.
