The Muskegon Lumberjacks announced Tuesday that Keith Sullivan will take over as the team’s general manager.

Sullivan was hired as the team’s vice president back in September.

“Keith (Sullivan) is immensely qualified for the position due to his scouting expertise in the NHL along with previous stints in the USHL,” said Lumberjacks owner and CEO Josh Mervis.  “Keith (Sullivan) has done a fabulous job complementing the things that are already in place and is a huge asset for this organization as we continue to get better on and off the ice.”

Mervis had been the team’s general manager since the team released former head coach/general manager Kevin Patrick a year ago.

This is Sullivan’s second stint in the USHL. He previously scouted for the Lincoln Stars and Omaha Lancers.  Sullivan then moved on to the National Hockey League with the Phoenix Coyotes and Winnipeg Jets.
