The Muskegon Lumberjacks scored the first goal onĀ  Friday night, but that was the extent of the offensive output in a 4-1 loss to host Cedar Rapids.

Michael Brodzinski scored midway through the opening period with an assist from Max Shuart for a 1-0 lead.

However, the hosts scored the game’s next four goals, including two by Jack Rowe to claim the victory.

In the second period, Cedar Rapids scored two goals in the matter of just 21 seconds.

Each team had 36 shots on goal.

Cedar Rapids goaltender Steve Michalek posted the victory while Kevin Lindskoug stopped 32-of-36 shots and was saddled with the loss.

Muskegon travels to Waterloo for a game on Saturday night.
