Western Michigan Christian won its ninth straight game on Friday night with a 64-53 nonleague victory over visiting Kent City.

The Warriors stingy defense in the first half gave them a 28-18 lead at the break. The lead was extended to 52-37 after three quarters.

Kent City used a 9-2 scoring spurt to start the fourth quarter to pull to within 54-46, but the Warriors were able to put the game away with two key buckets and two free throws from senior Henry DeKam.

Bernard Smith led WMC with 20 points and 10 rebounds. DeKam added 18 points while Alex Rop and James Jackson scored eight points each.

Jake Krueger led Kent City with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Will Wilson scored 12 points and Austin Thompson added 10.
