Jon Ackley, a 2012 North Muskegon graduate, was selected “Rookie of the Year” for the Albion College football team.

Ackley, a three-letter varsity player while at NM, started at right guard on offense for most of the 2012 season.
At the 2012 Albion College Football Awards Banquet recently, Ackley received his first-year award and also received the “Rookie of the Year ” award. The award was presented by Dustin Beurer, the offensive line coach and running game coordinator.
“Jon won the starting role in week three of the season and never relinquished it,” Beurer said. “In my 10 years involved with the Albion football program, not once has an offensive lineman won the rookie of the year award.  Jon has the size and ability, should he continue to develop, to be one the better offensive lineman we have had in a long time.  Jon is hard on himself and wants to be great.”
