The Western Michigan Christian Warriors jumped out to a quick lead and cruised to a 53-14 district basketball victory over Muskegon Heights Academy.

The victory moves the Warriors (15-6) into Wednesday’s Class C district semifinal game against Holland Black River. Gametime is 5:30 p.m.

On Monday, the Warriors grabbed a 14-6 lead after one quarter and extended it to 28-9 by halftime.

Senior Vanessa Eekhoff led the Warriors with 10 p0ints and six rebounds. Rachel Bruinsma had nine points, eight rebounds and five blocks. Lindsey Johnson had six rebounds. In all 11 Warriors scored.

Muskegon Heights Academy was led by Joslyn Fox with six points.
