Muskegon Heights Academy could not overcome a poor third quarter and lost to Laingsburg 61-59 in the Class C regional finals at Pewamo–Westphalia High School on Wednesday night.
Laingsburg (22-2) advances to the Class C quarterfinals where they will play Beaverton on Tuesday night.
The game was tied 30-30 at halftime, but Laingsburg outscored the Tigers 10-5 in the third quarter to take a 40-35 into the final quarter.
Muskegon Heights (17-5) outscored the Wolfpack 24-21 in the final quarter, but the rally fell short.
Jeff Jordan led the Tigers with 19 points, Eddie Tornes scored 16, Marquis Gresham added 12 and Aaron Sydnor scored 1o points.
Jacob Zielinski led Laingsburg with 25 points and Shaun McKinney added 21.
