Bill Andree resigned recently as the boys varsity basketball coach at Fruitport High School.

Andree coached the boys varsity team five years, including this past season in which he posted a 9-12 record. It was his highest win total in his five seasons.

“His team competed hard and I have appreciated his high expectations and efforts,” Fruitport athletic director Ken Erny said.

In five years at the helm, Andree posted a 22-83 record.

Previously, he coached at Orchard View and served as an assistant or jayvee coach for 14 years prior to that at Gorfrey Lee and Grand Rapids Catholic.

The search for a new coach has already begun at Fruitport, Erny said.
