The Muskegon Catholic Central boys basketball team has advanced to the Class D district semifinals without stepping onto the court.

Tonight’s district opener, scheduled to be played at Fruitport Calvary Christian, will not be played due to illness that has decimated the roster of Kent City Algoma Christian.

According to the Muskegon Catholic Central Facebook page: “Due to illness, Algoma Christian, our opponent tonight, has forfeited. Thus, we will not be playing a game tonight, will receive a win, and will advance to play Wednesday vs. Fruitport Calvary Christian @ Fruitport Calvary Christian @ 7 pm.”

Fremont Providence Christian will take on West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science tonight at Calvary.
