The Muskegon Community College baseball team completed their spring trip with a split of a doubleheader against Olney Central Community College.
In the opener, MCC dropped a 1-0 decision before battling back in the nightcap for a 10-4 victory.
David Foster allowed three hits and struck out six. M.J. Oshinski had two of MCC’s five hits.
The Jayhawks battled back from a deficit to broke the game open with a five-run sixth inning. Troy Stango was the winning pitcher in relief and Bryant Westra picked up his second save.
 
In the pivotal sixth inning, Brian Barnes led off with a double and Drew Johnson bunted him to third. Ty Devine hit a sacrifice fly to make it 6-4. Patrick Giddings singled, advanced when John Jackoviak was hit by a pitch and scored on a Travis Cohoon double. Jason Ribecky then doubled home two runs.
MCC finished their trip with a 6-5 record. The home portion of the schedule, weather permitting, begins with a home game on March 12 against Owens Community College at 2 p.m.
