A four-goal second period propelled the Muskegon Lumberjacks to a 6-3 victory over the Tri City Storm on Saturday night.

Goals by Joe Cox, Brian Morgan, Cameron Darcy and Michael Brodzinski turned a 1-0 deficit after one period into a 4-1 lead after two. In that period, Muskegon fired 21 shots on the Tri City goal.

After the Storm scored two goals early in the third period to pull to within a goal, Muskegon received two goals in 31 seconds. Brodzinski and Cullen Hurley scored in quick succession to restore Muskegon’s three-goal advantage.

Muskegon’s power play was effective with three goals on its five chances. Both Brodzinski’s goals were on the power play along with the first-period goal by Cox.

Defensemen Rasmus Bengtsson and Patrick Koudys each had two assists. Brodzinski also added an assist for a three-point night.

Goaltender Jordan Uhelski stopped 29-of-32 shots and earned the victory in net for Muskegon. The Jacks had a 40-32 advantage in shots on goal.

The Jacks complete their trip to Nebraska with a game in Omaha on Sunday.
