The Muskegon Big Reds advanced to the Class A district semifinal game with a 69-54 victory over host Cedar Springs on Monday night.

The result moves the Big Reds into Wednesday’s 8 p.m. contest against host Mona Shores, which defeated Reeths-Puffer 66-54.

Muskegon had plenty of balance, led by Juwon Martin and Joeviar Kennedy with 19 points each. De’Vonte Dockery added 15 points and Deshaun Thrower had 12. Thrower also added nine rebounds and six steals.

Deyonta Davis had a solid game inside for the Big Reds. He had seven rebounds and seven blocked shots. Ronald Jenkins wasn’t a factor in scoring, but he made a significant contribution with seven rebounds and eight assists.

Brad  Brechtin led Cedar Springs with 24 points, 11 rebounds and six rebounds.
