Oakridge’s run in the Class B state tournament came to an end on Thursday night in the regional finals as they lost 51-34 to Clare.

The Eagles led 12-11 after one quarter, but were outscored 14-5 in the second quarter and trailed 26-17 at halftime.

“The time that was put in, it was definitely disappointing,” said Oakridge coach Terry DeJonge. “We didn’t play our best game and we needed that against that team,”

Clare outscored Oakridge 26-17 in the second half by taking advantage of the Eagles 12 turnovers on the night..

Keyara Wiard led the Eagles with 15 points and eight rebounds and Morgan Giddings added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Clare advances to play Midland Bullock Creek in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
