A year ago, the Fruitport Trojans had a veteran team. They won 24 games and advanced to the regional finals.
Those players who were waiting for playing time last season will be plenty of opportunities this season, said Coach Bob Dorman, whose team finished 24-9.
Returning starters include third baseman Morgan Glover, centerfielder Amanda Benson and catcher Lindsey Helsen.
“We will be solid on defense and our bats are looking very good,” Dorman said.
