The Muskegon Catholic Central Crusader girls track team is looking for major improvements from a year ago.

That’s the assessment of Coach Steve Czerwon, who welcomes back a state qualifier who missed last season due to injury and the influx of some new runners.

“We should improve on the 2012 season and have some of the better sprint relays in recent memory for the Crusaders,” Czerwon said.

Kendall Wickstrom, a senior, is back after missing last season with a knee injury. As a sophomore she finished in the top eight at state in the hurdles. Another strong runner in the 800 will be sophomore  Annika Tyler. Also running the 800 will be Joce Napieralla. Watch for sophomore Victoria Gasior in the 400.

Top newcomers include Kalyleigh Schulte, a junior transfer who was a city meet finalist in the long jump and 100. Momo Neal and Tootie Thompson will add speed in the sprints and the sprint relays.
