Coach Terry Fick has a lot of new faces on this year’s Montague boys track team.

He will be busy figuring out where everyone fits into the lineup, but he’s just fine with that.

“Our numbers are up this year,” Fick said. “And once we figure out where everyone goes, we should be able to compete for the top four in the conference.”

The way Fick sees it, his Wildcats will be battling Whitehall, Mason County Central and Oakridge for a spot in the upper tier of the West Michigan Conference.

The Wildcats key returnees include: Senior Tim Blackmer (sprints, relays), junior Wyatt Ford (sprints, relays), senior Luis Aguilar (long jump, sprints, relays), senior Billie Welch (sprints, relays), junior Joe Peterson (hurdles, relays), junior Carson Williams (distance), senior Camre Hope (discus, shot put), sophomore Brennen Zuniga (distance), sophomore Max Martin (middle distance), junior Preston Kahl (discus, shot put), sophomore Aidan Smith (distance) and sophomore Adam Hoeker (discus, shot put).

Top newcomers to the squad include senior Brandon Moore (sprints, relays), senior Spencer Morse (distance), freshman Joe Marsh (shot put, discus), freshman Brandon Casebolt (hurdles), sophomore Scott Hendrixion (middle distance), junior Eric Groppi, sophomore Jordan Ernst and junior Chris Carrol.
