Kent City pitcher Austin Thompson was nearly perfect against Godwin Heights on Wednesday. Thompson pitched a complete game no hitter. He struck out 15 and walked one as Kent City won 2-0.
Thompson had a perfect game going until the fifth inning when he gave up a walk.
The Eagles’ bats struggled until the fifth inning when Ryan Busse scored on an error.
Justin Phillips’ sacrifice fly in the seventh inning drove in Tyler Hawkins to give Kent City a 2-0 lead and some breathing room for Thompsom. Hawkins reached base on a single to lead off the inning.
Kyle Boyd produced two hits for Kent City, which improves to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in the OK Silver.
