Hart split its two games at the Brethren Invitational on Saturday. The Pirates fell to Brethren 12-2 and topped Manistee Catholic 9-4.

The Pirates rallied for six runs in the first inning against Manistee Catholic, but the Sabres got right back into it with four runs in the third inning.

Hart answered by scoring three runs in the bottom of the third and held Manistee Catholic scoreless in the fourth and fifth innings.

Winning pitcher James Freeman struck out five, walked four and gave up three hits and four earned runs for Hart.

Brett Bonstell had one hit and three RBI and Connor Boundy added a hit and two RBI.

Against Brethren, Hart fell behind quickly by giving up five runs in the first inning.

Brandon Amstutz led the Pirates with a hit and an RBI.
