Hart split its doubleheader against Manistee on Wednesday, dropping the opener 12-4 and winning Game 2, 9-8.

Manistee scored five runs in the seventh inning to gain the upper hand in the opener.

Hart’s Brandon Amstutz had three hits. Thomas Stoneman had a pair of hits and James Freeman had a two-run double.

The Pirates held on in Game 2 as Freeman posted the win and Amstutz earned the save.

Manistee rallied for four runs in the fifth before Amstutz shut them down.

Amstutz got Hart going in the first inning with a two-run homer. That plated Thomas Stoneman, who had reached on a single. Amstutz finished with three hits and three RBI.

Logan Rasmussen had two hits and two RBI for Hart.
