The Eagles scored four runs in the first inning and that gave winning pitcher Ella Clay early breathing room.

Clay struck out three, walked one and gave up four hits in the five-inning game.

Janae Atwood led Kent City with three hits and three RBIs. Paige Smith sparked the first-inning rally with a two-run double. Justine Wolter scored four runs.
