MacIntyre, a 6-foot-5, 250-pounder, was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the Penguins’ American Hockey League affiliate.

MacIntyre has 70 penalty minutes in 29 AHL games. This is his first recall to the NHL this season.

A year ago, MacIntyre, who now plays forward, split his season between Wilkes-Barren/Scranton (24 games) and the Penguins (12 games).

MacIntyre, 32, played for the Fury in 2001-02 and 2002-03. During the 02-03 season, he played in 54 games and had two goals and one assist for three points. He had 279 penalty minutes.

The native of Brock, Saskatchewan, has played in 90 NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers and Penguins. He had two goals, two assists and 163 penalty minutes.

MacIntyre could have made his season debut with the Penguins tonight, but the game has been postponed due to the ongoing manhunt in the Boston area for the remaining suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing.
