Ravenna surged to a 6-2 lead before having to hang on for a 6-5 softball victory over the host Kent City Eagles on Monday.

Emily Helsen led the Bulldogs with three hits, Laura Williams added a double, a single and scored two runs and Hannah Sommers had a double.

Kent City’s offense was led by Ella Clay with two hits, one a double, and scored two runs. Janae Atwood added two hits. Nicole Coates singled in the bottom of the sixth inning to drive in two runs to pull the Eagles to within one run.
