A year ago, the North Muskegon girls track team captured the West Michigan Conference title.

Co-coaches Doug Clark and Al Karaba have set that same goal for this coming season.

“We have many all-conference and state qualifiers back this year,” Clark said. “Strengths of the team will be depth in all the events, especially distance and sprints.”

Leading the way are key returnees Laura Hardy (sprints), Hanna Meier (distance), Morgan Witham (hurdles), Alli Wierda (sprints/high jump), Andrea Fairfield (sprints), Abby Clark (distance), Maggie Karaba (hurdles) Ellie Wilson (middle distance), Avery Lowe (distance) and Deziray Taylor (sprints).

“We were hampered in the preseason by the weather, but we hope to use the experience we have coming back to be competitive and sort things out as the season progresses,” Clark said.
