Strong pitching carries Holton to baseball sweep of White Cloud

Adam Wiegand and Jacob Russell each pitched a strong game on Tuesday and led the Holton Red Devils to a doubleheader sweep of White Cloud.

Wiegand pitched seven innings and allowed five hits and two runs. He struck out 10.

Brad Epplett had two hits to lead the Red Devils.

Russell pitched 6 1/3 strong innings in the nightcap. He struck out eight.

Epplette had three hits, scored two runs and knocked in a pair of runs. Aaron Poling had two hits and scored twice.
