Hesperia didn’t waste time in its 13-2 win over Oakridge in a pre-district matchup. The Panthers scored four runs in the first inning and held the Eagles to single runs in the first and second innings.

Deborah Santiago carried a big bat with three hits and six RBI to lead Hesperia. Santiago had a two-run double and a pair of two-run singles.

The Panther offense combined for 10 hits. Hesperia scored three runs in the third inning, four in the fourth and two more in the fifth.

Paiton Beekman had two hits and three RBI for Hesperia.

Katie Annis was the winning pitcher, giving up nine hits, two earned runs and one walk in five innings pitched. Annis also helped herself out at the plate with a two-run double.

Taylor Hall led Oakridge with three hits. Morgan Giddings and Caelin Subdon had two hits apiece and Alessa Buchner had an RBI single for the Eagles.
