Muskegon native Justin Abdelkader returned to the lineup after a two-game suspension and assisted on a third-period goal by Daniel Cleary  in the Detroit Red Wings’ 4-3 overtime victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night. The game was played at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

Originally, Abdelkader was credited with that third-period goal.

Abdelkader was suspended two games after a hit in Game 3.

Cleary’s goal came at 11:30 of the third period that gave Detroit a 3-1 lead. Anaheim scored two quick goals later in the period to tie the game and send it into overtime.

In the extra period, Henrik Zetterberg scored his second goal of the game to provide the game-winning goal. Abdelkader was camped out in front of the net and provided a screen on Zetterberg’s shot. Abdelkader finished plus-2 in Game 6.

Pavel Datsyuk also scored a goal for Detroit.
