Keyara Wiard scored the first two goals as Oakridge cruised to a 4-0 win over Orchard View.
Wiard’s first tally came just three minutes into the contest on a pass from Aliza Olsen.
“We tried a few things different with our midfielders and forwards to start the game,” said Oakridge coach Jeff Lohman. “It paid right off the bat with a quick goal.”
Eleven minutes later Wiard took a pass from McKenzie Davis at midfield and drove through Cardinal midfielders and defenders to give Oakirdge a 2-0 lead.
“Keyara literally muscled her way through OV’s mids and defenders to score the goal,” Lohman said. “It was a great pass and then a great individual effort by Keyara.”
Shelby Wilde’s goal with six minutes left gave the Eagles a 3-0 halftime lead. The goal was her first since having sholder surgery in the fall. Megan Larabee posted the assist.
“It was a great uper corner goal from Shelbe,” Lohman said.
Emily Jacoutot found the net late in the contest to put Oakirdge up for good as Aliza Olsen had the assist.
Oakridge outshot Orchard View 6-2 in the win.
