Ludington downs Grant convincingly in baseball doubleheader

Ludington topped Grant in its doubleheader 9-3 in Game 1 and 9-0 in Game 2 on Tuesday.

Pitcher Blake Collins struck out 11 and gave up five hits in seven innings for the Orioles in Game 1. Hunter Klug had two hits and four RBI and Evan Kroeze had two hits and an RBI for Ludington.

The Orioles scored four runs in the second and five in the sixth in the route.

Riley Foster had a double and an RBI for Grant.

In the nightcap, Chad Large was too much for Grant, pitching a two-hitter while striking out five.

Ludington gave Large breathing room quickly by scoring four runs in the second inning. The Orioles had 11 hits.

Klug led Ludington at the plate with a double, two singles and an RBI. Collins had two hits and two RBI and Peter Lovato had a single and an RBI.

Tristan Shetpron had a double and Hunter Robison had a single for the Tigers.
