Six runs in the second inning sparked the Mason County Central Spartans to an 11-2 baseball victory over Ludington in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader.

MCC also won the second game, 8-5.

In the opener, Cale Cookenmaster had three hits for lead the Spartans. Allen Barnhardt, Brian Erntman and Mitchell Lange each drove in two runs.

Chad Large had two hits for Ludington.

In the second game, Large, Ryan Karns and Ryan Bowen each had two hits for the Orioles in the second game. Ludington had 11 hits.

MCC scored three runs in the third and four in the fourth.
