The North Muskegon girls tennis team is heading to the Division 4 state finals after finishing first in regionals on Thursday.

Regionals were played at NorthPointe Christian.

North Muskegon’s flight champions included Ginny Hoch at No. 1 singles, Alexis Bailey at No. 2 singles, Brielle Johnson and Kat Tyson at No. 1 doubles and Kelli Boes and Molly Huisingh at No. 3 doubles.

North Muskegon also had several flight runners-up. Allie Bogner finished second at No. 3 singles, Paige Twining was runner up at No. 4 singles and Lauren Bliss and Hannah Knight finished second at No. 4 doubles.

Also going to state is the Norse No. 2 doubles team of Morgan Lindback and Gina Perneski.

NorthPointe Christian and Grandville Calvin Christian also qualified for the state finals as a team. Calvin Christian finished with 15 points and NorthPointe Christian had 12.

Other area teams competing were Grant, which finished with seven points, Western Michigan Christian with two points and Muskegon Catholic Central did not earn a point.

The state finals are May 31-June 1 at Kalamazoo College.
