Oakridge shut out Montague 4-0 in a first-round game in the West Michigan Conference soccer tournament.

First-half goals by Brandy Weaver and Ashley Weaver gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead. Keyara Wiard and Jade Ware assisted on the goals.

In the second half, Aliza Olsen scored with help from Wiard and Jade Ware scored with an assist to Kaitlyn McLain.

“We had a solid game of possession, but Montague did a good job taking away a lot of real scoring chances throughout the game,” Oakridge coach Jeff Lohman said. “You could tell that we were very flat throughout the game.  It was hard for us to get any kind of energy in the game tonight following a tough game with Hart, both teams undefeated in the league.”

Montague’s keeper Katie Webster had a solid game, including a save on a penalty kick.
