Western Michigan Christian finished the league portion of the schedule with an 8-0 record on Wednesday thanks to a 2-0 victory over Grand Rapids Covenant Christian.
The host Warriors are now 12-3-5.
Jessica Kinnucan scored 16:24 into the game with an assist from Alexys Riksen.
Riksen scored in the final minutes of the second half with an assist from Julie Merz.WMC had a 21-6 advantage in shots. Lindsey Johnson made six saves in the WMC net for the shutout.
One of our goals was to win the conference and it was nice to accomplish that,” WMC coach David Hulings said.”Not only did we win the conference we were able to win all eight conference games.”Covenant played us really strong tonight,” Hulings said.”When we played them at their place it was their third game in as many nights.  Tonight they came on strong for 80 minutes.  We were down our key player in the back (Alli Langeland) but it was nice to see a sophomore, Alyssa Wright, fill in for her and do some great things in the back.”
