Host Western Michigan Christian moved to the district semifinals with an 8-0 win Tuesday over Kent City.

The Lady Warriors (13-4-2) will face Muskegon Catholic at 5 p.m. Thursday at Warrior Field. MCC defeated Fruitport Calvary Christian 4-2 Tuesday.

In the other district game at WMC,  North Muskegon defeated Ravenna 6-0 and will face Kent City Algoma Christian Thursday at Warrior Field at 6:45 p.m. Thursday’s winners will play in the district final at 11 a.m. Saturday at Warrior Field.

Brea Frein and Alexys Riksen each had two goals for the Warriors while Courtne Stuk, Brianna Graceau, Julie Merz and Sarah Hughes each had one goal.  Mykayla Denison and Mikaela Erickson each had two assists while Taylor Denison, Stuk, Jessica Kinnucan and Alyssa Wright each had one.

WMC outshot the Eagles 26-2 and Warrior keeper Lindsey Johnson made two saves for to the shutout.

“This was a great game after being off for four days for the holiday weekend,” WMC coach David Hulings said. “We had multiple players and could get the reserves plenty of playing time, which is key this time of year.   We had some good things in this game to use and look forward to our next contest.”
