Grand Haven Golf Club will host the Second Junior Patriot Cup Classic tournament for junior golfers July 9 and 10.

The tournament, organized by the Mid-American Junior Golf Tour, is accepting entries through 10 a.m., July 4, at the tournament web site.

The event has attracted 21 boys and girls entrants so far including one from the area, Mark Nalley, of Grand Haven.

The other entrants are from Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota. Competition is by age group, 12-18 years of age, for both boys and girls.

The Mid-American Junior Golf Tour has scheduled 13 events for this summer with the Grand Haven stop being the sixth on the schedule. The next event will be the Championship at Geneva National on the Players Course at Geneva National Golf Club, Lake Geneva, Wis.

Three of the tour stops are for college-age players with the next one at that level set for July 22-23 in the Illinois State Classic at Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill.Entry fees at Grand Haven are $195 for MAJGT members and $245 for non-members.

The Junior Patriot Cup Classic is one of the activities of the Folds of Honor Foundation at Grand Haven Golf Club.
