The United State Hockey League Board of Governors officially approved the transfer of ownership of the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Ronald J. Friedman has acquired majority ownership of the Lumberjacks with Chris and Peter Ferraro.

“Our group is thrilled at the warm welcome that we have received from the USHL and are proud to be part of this league,” Ronald J. Friedmaon said in a Lumberjack press release.

John Vanbiesbrouck has also been named as the General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations. Vanbiesbrouck is the winningest American-born goaltender with 374 wins in the NHL and was elected into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in October of 2007.
