If you love Subway sandwiches and hockey, the Muskegon Lumberjacks have a deal for you this season.Every Saturday home game in the 2013-14 season will be a “Subway Saturday.” That means if the Lumberjacks win (something the club plans to do a lot this season), fans can redeem their ticket stubs at any participating Subway restaurant for a buy one, get one free deal.
That means you can buy any type of sandwich and get one sandwich of equal or lesser value for free. If you’re hungry after the game but on a budget, there’s no better way to go.
The Subway giveaway is just one of 30 promotions planned for this season by the Lumberjacks, who announced the full schedule Wednesday.
One promotion sure to be a fan favorite is “Rock the Arena Happy Hour,” particularly for those who like to get to the game early. The club will be offering Rolling Rock beer, popcorn and soda for $2 apiece from the time the doors open until the opening puck drop, every home game of the season.
The Lumberjacks are also introducing the “Jacks Win You Win” promotion on the first Friday home game of every month. If the Lumberjacks win, all fans in attendance will receive a $5 gift card from Sports Clips.
Every home game this season will feature some sort of promotion or special event, including a magnetic schedule giveaway Oct. 4, a team poster giveaway on Oct. 5, Star Wars Night on Nov. 23, Red Wings Night on Feb. 15, Jersey Day on Feb. 28 and 70’s Night on March 14.
The Lumberjacks will open the United States Hockey League regular season Sept. 21 in Green Bay. The hope opener is a week later on Sept. 28 against Indiana.
