The I Am Basketball League is getting ready for the biggest day of its first season. The league is hosting its first all-star event this Saturday, Aug. 17 and will have plenty of high-flying entertainment.

Festivities will include a dunk contest, a 3-point shootout, an all-star game, live entertainment and will have ESPN’s Chris Broussard as a guest speaker.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 the day of. VIP tickets are $25 which include a meet and greet with Broussard.

Broussard is an NBA analyst for ESPN and is a columnist for ESPN the Magazine and ESPN.com.

ESPN brought on Broussard in 2004 for the network’s NBA coverage. Broussard serves as a reporter for ESPN’s NBA game telecasts and appears regularly on SportsCenter, NBA Coast, and Mike and Mike in the morning.

Several notable players in the league are Calistas “Bean” Eziukwu who plays for Acea Virtus in Italy. Drew Naymick is another player who has had success in basketball outside of Muskegon having played at Michigan State and for CEZ Nymburk in the Czech. Justin Jennings has been a regular at the league as well.

The all-star event will be hosted at 3 Oaks Public school Academy which is the old home of Western Michigan Christian High School. Festivities start at 5:00 p.m. and has a full list of entertainment.
