The Muskegon Lumberjacks added Trevor Morbeck to their active roster for the upcoming season.
Morbeck, a Jackson, Wisc. native, recently concluded the 2012-13 season with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and he will join the active roster and participate in the team’s training camp beginning in late August.
Morbeck spent the last four seasons from 2009-13 playing in the OHL for three different teams in Oshawa along with the Sault St. Marie Greyhounds and Kingston Frontenacs. During his OHL career, Morbeck compiled 80 points (29 goals and 51 assists) in 220 games played.
Morbeck was a third-round pick (60th overall) by Sault St. Marie in the 2009 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection Draft.
Muskegon begins preseason play in the USHL Atlantic Challenge in New Jersey set for September 6-8th against the Waterloo Black Hawks (September 6th at 5:00 pm), Sioux City Musketeers (September 7th at 3:30 pm), and Sioux Falls Stampede (September 8th at 11:00 am). The following weekend, the Lumberjacks will participate in the USHL Fall Classic East in Indianapolis, Indiana to conclude their preseason against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (September 14th at 4:45 pm) and host Indiana Ice (September 15th at 5:45 pm).
The Lumberjacks will begin their 2013-14 regular season campaign on Saturday, September 21st in Green Bay against the Gamblers at 8:05 pmwith their home opener slated for the following weekend on Saturday, September 28th against the Indiana Ice at 7:15 pm.
