Fremont Packer kicker, Blake Locke, kicked a 26-yard field goal with no time remaining on Friday night as the Packers defeated Tri County 10-7.
The Packers set up the storybook finish with a 50-yard Christian Wade pass to Aaron Reinhold in the last minute and then let the time run down to set up Locke’s heroics.
“We always tell our kids of situations that may arise and practice this multiple times,” Fremont coach Jeff Breuker said.
It all paid off for Fremont, which trailed 7-0 at halftime and tallied with a touchdown in the third quarter on a 6-yard run by Wyatt Campbell to tie the game.
Tri-County had 10 first downs to Fremont’s 5 and led in total yardage 175-90.
Despite the lopsided stats, Fremont was able to capture its first victory of the season.
Where do they get there stats from? Great victory Fremont! Way to keep them in the game defense!
