The Muskegon Lumberjacks couldn’t hold on to its early lead against Sious Falls Sunday afternoon at the USHL’s Atlantic Challenge. Muskegon lost 5-3 despite an early goal lead.

Luke Sandler put the Lumberjacks on the board first 1-0, after he tipped in a Sean Lang shot during the power play.

Sioux Falls would go on to score the next three goals, two coming off of power plays.

Cooper Marody’s goal in the second period and C.J. Smith’s goal in the third  would cap scoring for Muskegon.

Sioux Falls held the advantage offensively, outshooting Muskegon 38-32.

Goalie Jordan Uhelski sat between the pipes the first 30 minutes of action and stoped 19-of-22 shots. Eric Schierhorn entered in the second period and stopped eight shots.

The Lumberjacks wrap up preseason action next Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21 and 22 at the USHL Fall Classic East in Indianapolis.
